SOCIAL IMPACT

A passion for environmentally- and socially conscious spiritual retreats and adventures, IIPS has created unique trekking and yoga tours with positive social impact. Retreats focus on the 3 pillars of helping out, connecting with nature, and sustainability. Treks may include hiking to local schools, rehabilitation centers, connecting with people from all over the world, and of course yoga and meditation. Below are many of the Sustainable and social good practices:

  • Hire local guides & teachers.

  • Organic ingredients used to prepare three home-cooked meals sourced within a 10- mile radius.

  • Eco-friendly trash pickup and recycling. Volunteer work at local schools to teach children about zero waste, how to properly dispose of garbage, and other ecological practices.

  • Reduce consumption of water and electricity.

  • Glass Water bottles filled directly from mountain springs.

  • Tour co-pilots are carefully selected who are eager to educate about zero waste and to educate their visitors about local culture and tradition.

  • Staff are paid exactly the rate they request, which is well above average. They are excellent role models students may leave with new local friends by the end.

  • Upward mobility opportunities and owner accessibility for staff.

  • Educate staff on sustainability.

  • Analyze social/environmental impact of business investments.

  • Family friendly (12 years of age and older).

  • Vegan options.
